Special Residencies Project<\/h3>\r\n

The most effective way to foster cross-cultural understanding and appreciation is to enable people from all over the globe to work side by side for a set period of time.\u00a0
\u00a0
Chinese ceramic history and industry encompass a wide range of specificities, establishing China as a unique destination in the ceramic world. Due to Jingdezhen\u2019s \u2014 and more broadly China\u2019s \u2014 exceptional status in ceramics, as well as the numerous facilities dedicated to hosting artists in residence, the IAC has developed a special initiative proposed by Jacques Kaufmann, allowing its members to work in China and exhibit in Jingdezhen in the lead-up to the 2026 IAC Congress.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

Seven residency centers across China have enthusiastically agreed to participate in this landmark initiative. Following review by a selection committee, 60 artist members of the IAC were chosen to work for 2.5 to 3 months, from March\/April to June 2026, culminating in an exhibition presenting works created by each artist during their residency.
\u00a0
The promotion of peace through intercultural collaboration is at the heart of the IAC\u2019s mission. A dedicated section entitled \u201cClay for Peace\u201d will present collaborative works created during the residencies by IAC members working together, or with Chinese IAC members or local artists in the same locations and during the same period. This section will be included in the IAC International Residencies Exhibition at the Taoxichuan Art Museum.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n

Hebei Quyang the Chen's Ding Kiln Porcelain Co., LTD\u00a0<\/h3>\r\n<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n

Ding Kiln, one of China\u2019s Five Great Kilns of the Song Dynasty, originated in Quyang County, Baoding City, Hebei Province, and was named for Quyang\u2019s historical affiliation to Dingzhou. Its porcelain-making began in the Sui Dynasty, flourished in the Northern Song Dynasty and declined in the Yuan Dynasty. Famous for white porcelain with fine texture and smooth glaze, it is praised as \"white as jade, thin as paper, clear as chime\", with black, red and purple porcelains as fine varieties.<\/p>\r\n

Founded in 1992, Hebei Quyang Chens Ding Kiln Porcelain Co., Ltd. is a protection unit of the national intangible cultural heritage Ding Porcelain Firing Technique and a designated manufacturer of the National Museum. Under the efforts of two generations represented by Chen Wenzeng and Pang Yonghui, it has formed three series of products and cooperated with top art colleges. Integrating traditional craftsmanship with modern technology, it shapes corporate culture with the pioneering spirit of Ding porcelain masters, and promotes the high-quality development of contemporary Ding porcelain with premium products.<\/p>\r\n

Jingdezhen Sanbao International Ceramic Art Village\u00a0\u00a0<\/h3>\r\n<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n

Established in 1995, the Jingdezhen Sanbao International Ceramic Art Village is one of the first residency programs in China. It was founded by Jackson Li, an internationally renowned ceramic artist. Since opening to the international ceramic community in 1998, it has hosted thousands of ceramic artists from around the world.<\/p>\r\n

Located in the lush green Sanbao Valley, an area with a porcelain history dating back to the Song Dynasty, \u201cSanbao\u201d means \u201cthree treasures\u201d: white porcelain stone, bamboo forests, and green tea. Sanbao Ceramic Art Village has been an affiliated member of the IAC since 2001 and has played a very important role in international ceramic art exchange in China.<\/p>\r\n

Located in Shangyu, Shangyu Celadon\u00b7Modern International Ceramic Art Center is the birthplace of the world's ceramics. Since its opening in November 2015, it has hosted 130 ceramic artists from 24 countries and regions, collected over 1,800 works, and formed a comprehensive research resource base encompassing extensive collections, creation records, and academic publications. In October 2017, the Center became a member of the International Academy of Ceramics (IAC).
Rooted in 'Ceramic Origin Culture,' the center enables cultural exchanges between Chinese and foreign ceramic art to flourish in this land of ceramic origins, establishing itself as an important window for international cultural exchange.<\/p>\r\n

Le moyen le plus efficace de favoriser la compr\u00e9hension et l'appr\u00e9ciation interculturelles consiste \u00e0 permettre \u00e0 des personnes venues du monde entier de travailler c\u00f4te \u00e0 c\u00f4te pendant un certain temps.<\/p>\r\n

L'histoire et l'industrie de la c\u00e9ramique chinoise rec\u00e8lent de nombreuses sp\u00e9cificit\u00e9s, faisant de la Chine une destination unique dans le monde de la c\u00e9ramique. En raison du statut exceptionnel de Jingdezhen - et plus largement de la Chine - dans le domaine de la c\u00e9ramique, ainsi que des nombreuses structures d\u00e9di\u00e9es \u00e0 l'accueil d'artistes en r\u00e9sidence, l'AIC a mis en place une initiative sp\u00e9ciale, propos\u00e9e par Jacques Kaufmann, permettant \u00e0 ses membres de travailler en Chine et d'exposer \u00e0 Jingdezhen durant le Congr\u00e8s de l'AIC de 2026.<\/p>\r\n

Le four de Ding, l\u2019un des cinq grands fours de la Chine sous la dynastie Song, trouve son origine dans le comt\u00e9 de Quyang, dans la ville de Baoding, province du Hebei, et tire son nom de l\u2019appartenance historique de Quyang \u00e0 Dingzhou. La fabrication de la porcelaine y a d\u00e9but\u00e9 sous la dynastie Sui, a connu son apog\u00e9e sous la dynastie Song du Nord et a d\u00e9clin\u00e9 sous la dynastie Yuan. C\u00e9l\u00e8bre pour sa porcelaine blanche \u00e0 la texture fine et au vernis lisse, elle est lou\u00e9e pour \u00eatre \u00ab blanche comme le jade, fine comme du papier, claire comme une cloche \u00bb, avec des vari\u00e9t\u00e9s raffin\u00e9es de porcelaines noires, rouges et violettes.<\/p>\r\n

Fond\u00e9e en 1992, la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Hebei Quyang Chens Ding Kiln Porcelain Co., Ltd.<\/em> est une entit\u00e9 charg\u00e9e de la protection de la technique de cuisson de la porcelaine de Ding, class\u00e9e au patrimoine culturel immat\u00e9riel national, et un fabricant agr\u00e9\u00e9 du Mus\u00e9e national. Gr\u00e2ce aux efforts de deux g\u00e9n\u00e9rations repr\u00e9sent\u00e9es par Chen Wenzeng et Pang Yonghui, elle a d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 trois gammes de produits et collabor\u00e9 avec les meilleures \u00e9coles d\u2019art. Fond\u00e9 en 1995, le Village international des arts c\u00e9ramiques de Jingdezhen Sanbao est l\u2019un des premiers programmes de r\u00e9sidence en Chine. Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9 par Jackson Li, un c\u00e9ramiste de renomm\u00e9e internationale. Le Centre artistique Longquan Wangou - Taoxichuan, situ\u00e9 \u00e0 Longquan, dans la province du Zhejiang, se trouve au c\u0153ur de la \u00ab capitale mondiale du c\u00e9ladon \u00bb. Ancr\u00e9 dans le patrimoine culturel renomm\u00e9 de la ville, notamment en mati\u00e8re d\u2019\u00e9p\u00e9es et de c\u00e9ladon, il b\u00e9n\u00e9ficie de l\u2019\u00e9cosyst\u00e8me commercial int\u00e9gr\u00e9 de l\u2019avenue de la c\u00e9ramique Wangou Taoxichuan. Sa mission principale est \u00ab For You & Cross \u00bb. Le centre comprend des installations sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9es telles qu\u2019un atelier international, un espace de cuisson partag\u00e9 et des laboratoires d\u2019argile et de gla\u00e7ure, \u00e9quip\u00e9s de fours \u00e0 bois, \u00e9lectriques et \u00e0 gaz de pointe. Il accueille des r\u00e9sidences d\u2019artistes, des expositions et des programmes de formation, favorisant les \u00e9changes internationaux et aidant les jeunes talents \u00e0 devenir des c\u00e9ramistes professionnels.<\/p>\r\n

Le programme Yixing CCCA a pour vocation de promouvoir les pratiques c\u00e9ramiques contemporaines \u00e0 travers les \u00e9changes internationaux, la recherche et la collaboration. Les artistes b\u00e9n\u00e9ficient d\u2019ateliers professionnels et d\u2019un environnement culturel dynamique qui encourage l\u2019exp\u00e9rimentation et le dialogue. Situ\u00e9e \u00e0 Yixing, haut lieu historique de la fabrication de th\u00e9i\u00e8res, cette r\u00e9sidence allie l\u2019artisanat traditionnel aux approches artistiques contemporaines.<\/p>\r\n

Les artistes b\u00e9n\u00e9ficient d\u2019un soutien tout au long de leur s\u00e9jour, comprenant l\u2019h\u00e9bergement, l\u2019acc\u00e8s \u00e0 des ateliers et des occasions d\u2019\u00e9changer avec les artisans, les institutions et le public locaux. Des expositions r\u00e9guli\u00e8res, des portes ouvertes dans les ateliers et des programmes publics sont organis\u00e9s afin de partager les processus et les r\u00e9sultats artistiques.<\/p>\r\n

Le Centre international de r\u00e9sidence Yixing CCCA est \u00e9galement fier de faire partie du projet de r\u00e9sidence sp\u00e9cial de l\u2019AIC, qui renforce les r\u00e9seaux internationaux et favorise les \u00e9changes interculturels dans le domaine de la c\u00e9ramique. \u00c0 travers ce projet sp\u00e9cial, il vise \u00e0 cr\u00e9er des liens significatifs et \u00e0 contribuer au d\u00e9bat mondial sur l\u2019art c\u00e9ramique contemporain.<\/p>\r\n

Le Centre d'art moderne de la c\u00e9ramique et du liuli de Zibo est un organisme professionnel officiellement agr\u00e9\u00e9 par le Bureau de l'organisation institutionnelle du Comit\u00e9 municipal de Zibo du Parti communiste chinois (Bureau de l'organisation institutionnelle du Comit\u00e9 municipal de Zibo). Il fonctionne en tant qu'entit\u00e9 annexe du Mus\u00e9e de la c\u00e9ramique et du liuli de Zibo. B\u00e9n\u00e9ficiant du soutien acad\u00e9mique de l\u2019Acad\u00e9mie des arts et du design de l\u2019universit\u00e9 Tsinghua, le Centre int\u00e8gre la coordination de ressources externes de haut niveau, les \u00e9changes coop\u00e9ratifs, l\u2019\u00e9largissement des services li\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019industrie de la c\u00e9ramique et du liuli, ainsi que des r\u00e9sidences d\u2019artistes et des activit\u00e9s de R&D collaborative pour des artistes nationaux et internationaux.
