      The 52nd Congress and General Assembly of the International Academy of Ceramics (IAC) will take place from 27 June to 2 July 2026 in Jingdezhen, China \u2014 a historic city and the world-renowned capital of porcelain.<\/p>\r\n

      Jingdezhen has over 2,000 years of pottery-making history, including more than 1,000 years of royal kiln production, and thus represents the essence of Chinese ceramic heritage. The congress's theme, \"Inheritance and Innovation\", explores the dialogue between tradition and innovation in ceramics and considers its cultural, economic and technological relevance in the modern era.<\/p>\r\n

      Ceramics are deeply woven into daily life and identity in Jingdezhen \u2014 from the legendary kilns of the Song and Yuan dynasties to the city's thriving ceramic industry comprising over 16,000 workshops and 150,000 artisans today. The city is known for its porcelain, which is described as 'as white as jade, as bright as a mirror, as thin as paper, as sound as a chime', and its influence spans centuries and continents. It contributed to what many call the first wave of globalisation through the Maritime Silk Road.<\/p>\r\n

      Hosted by Jingdezhen Ceramic University and the Jingdezhen Municipal Government, the 2026 IAC Congress will explore the city's rich ecosystem of ceramic education, digital innovation, and international cultural exchange. From the recently opened Yuan Dynasty Blue & White Museum and Research Centre to the 'Ceramic Road' International Ceramic Education Alliance, Jingdezhen is actively shaping the future of ceramic arts and technology.<\/p>\r\n<\/td>\r\n

        Le 52e Congr\u00e8s et l'Assembl\u00e9e g\u00e9n\u00e9rale de l'Acad\u00e9mie internationale de la c\u00e9ramique (AIC) auront lieu du 27 juin au 2 juillet 2026 \u00e0 Jingdezhen, en Chine, une ville historique et la capitale mondiale de la porcelaine.<\/p>\r\n

        Jingdezhen a plus de 2 000 ans d'histoire dans la fabrication de la poterie, dont plus de 1 000 ans de production dans des fours royaux, et repr\u00e9sente donc l'essence m\u00eame du patrimoine c\u00e9ramique chinois. Le th\u00e8me du congr\u00e8s, \u00ab H\u00e9ritage et innovation \u00bb, explore le dialogue entre tradition et innovation dans le domaine de la c\u00e9ramique et examine sa pertinence culturelle, \u00e9conomique et technologique \u00e0 l'\u00e8re moderne.<\/p>\r\n

        La c\u00e9ramique est profond\u00e9ment ancr\u00e9e dans la vie quotidienne et l'identit\u00e9 de Jingdezhen, depuis les l\u00e9gendaires fours des dynasties Song et Yuan jusqu'\u00e0 l'industrie c\u00e9ramique florissante de la ville, qui compte aujourd'hui plus de 16 000 ateliers et 150 000 artisans. La ville est connue pour sa porcelaine, d\u00e9crite comme \u00ab blanche comme le jade, brillante comme un miroir, fine comme du papier, sonore comme un carillon \u00bb, et son influence s'\u00e9tend sur plusieurs si\u00e8cles et continents. Elle a contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 ce que beaucoup appellent la premi\u00e8re vague de mondialisation gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la Route maritime de la soie.<\/p>\r\n

        Organis\u00e9 par l'Universit\u00e9 de c\u00e9ramique de Jingdezhen et la municipalit\u00e9 de Jingdezhen, le Congr\u00e8s AIC 2026 explorera le riche \u00e9cosyst\u00e8me de la ville en mati\u00e8re d'enseignement de la c\u00e9ramique, d'innovation technologique et d'\u00e9changes culturels internationaux.
